Helping Out the Tornado Victims in Alabama (Updated Contact Info)

Contractors- If you want to help out, here is the contact info to get in touch with someone in Tuscaloosa.  We're in Connecticut, and don't have any in

Volunteer contact info http://www.ci.tuscaloosa.al.us/
Business contractor contact phone # is (205) 248-5045

(previous number posted just went to the Alabama DOT) New number is above.  Additional info here http://www.ci.tuscaloosa.al.us/

Our hearts go out to all that are suffering or lost loved ones in the wake of yesterday's tornadoes in Alabama, Mississippi, and other parts of the Southern USA  Although the damage is still being assessed and people are still being accounted for, we can all do our part to help.

Here's a few ways to help:

Join the Birmingham Red Cross' group for Alabama Tornado Relief on Causes.com There is also an option on their site to share the information with friends on facebook, so please consider doing so.

Text REDCROSS to 90999 on your phone

Contact your local Red Cross and ask if they would prefer monetary donations or clothing, food, blankets, etc.

If there is any upside to this horrible disaster, it's that local contractors will have the opportunity to help their neighbors in rebuilding.  Much like we all saw after Katrina, hundreds of contractors from all over the country headed south with their excavators, chainsaws, and other heavy equipment to lend a hand where it was needed.

If you read this, feel free to repost any of the contact information anywhere you please.

I know this may sound terrible, but are there any contracting/carpenter jobs that may be available in the states that have been hit. We have a family business which has been devastated by the economy, but we are very good and would welcome the opportunity for work. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I am an unemployed carpenter in Wyoming and would love to come down and lend a hand. I already have a donor who will pay for my gas if I have to drive. If this is possible, any information on who to contact would be great!
Thank you,
Ty Cook

Steven and have just started over, with our business and our lives, by the grace of God!! Years ago when the tornado's came through Indian Springs, it took down 75 trees and did some damage to my mother house. There was one guy who came to help us, not even the insurance company. Me and my business partner can remodel, build, paint anything from foax, antique furniture, textured, pearls and glaze, or we can just paint the whole house inside and out. We also do high-end home theater and whole house audio . Any kind of floor you need Sheetrock and trim crown, and showers. Would love to help and we are ready to work! Thanks God Bless!!
