Our hearts go out to all that are suffering or lost loved ones in the wake of yesterday's tornadoes in Alabama, Mississippi, and other parts of the Southern USA Although the damage is still being assessed and people are still being accounted for, we can all do our part to help.

Join the Birmingham Red Cross' group for Alabama Tornado Relief on Causes.com There is also an option on their site to share the information with friends on facebook, so please consider doing so.

Contact your local Red Cross and ask if they would prefer monetary donations or clothing, food, blankets, etc.
If there is any upside to this horrible disaster, it's that local contractors will have the opportunity to help their neighbors in rebuilding. Much like we all saw after Katrina, hundreds of contractors from all over the country headed south with their excavators, chainsaws, and other heavy equipment to lend a hand where it was needed.
